Ceasefire can’t hide scale of destruction in Gaza, UN warns, as rights experts call for ICC probe

A ceasefire in Gaza is “the only way forward” and “in the interest of everybody” as the war there threatens peace and security for both Palestinians and Israelis for years or even decades to come, the UN’s top humanitarian official in the Occupied Palestinian Territory said on Wednesday. 

The top UN humanitarian official on Tuesday called for an end to the escalating violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel, warning that “the whole region is at a tipping point.” 

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for access to health and humanitarian assistance amid the conflict in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
