Decades of development efforts undermined by pandemic – FAO report 

Transforming the way food is produced on the Indian Ocean archipelago of Mauritius could help to fight climate change as well as accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to the UN’s most senior representative in the country.

Thailand has made what has been described as “robust progress” towards meeting the targets of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) but a “whole of society approach” is needed to maintain momentum according to the UN Resident Coordinator in the country.

Land and water resources are “stressed to a critical point”, following significant deterioration over the past decade, according to a major new report released on Thursday by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
