The general objective of this operation is to improve quality, reliability and environmental sustainability of potable water services contributing towards achieving SDG 6.1 using climate resilient strategies encompassing both mitigation and adaptation measures. The specific objectives are to: (i) improve access to potable water services, compliant with WHO standards through new water infrastructure; (ii) reduce water losses; (iii) reduce abstraction from ground water aquifers (energy efficiency); (iv) Improve management capabilities of Guyana Water Inc. (increased operation efficiency).

The program's general objective is to improve social and economic accessibility and regional connectivity along the coast. The project-specific objectives are to: (i) improve access and connectivity of residents to social infrastructure such as schools and health centers; (ii) increase access of residents and businesses to economic centers; (iii) improve border crossing; and (iv) lower travel time. The objective of the CCLIP and the second operation is to contribute to the development of the required human capital needed to manage and drive economic growth and diversification as outlined in Guyana's National Development Plan.
